Our Story

How They Met

Dennies and Kassidy met on the tennis court. They were both on the travel team for St. Joe's Club Tennis team. They began seeing each other throughout college, but Dennies then moved to New York for work. They reconnected while he was in the Philadelphia area for work, but after his short stint in NYC, he moved to San Francisco for work; however, infatuated with Kassidy, Dennies wanted to give the relationship a shot even if it meant long distance. When Dennies first asked Kassidy to be his girlfriend, she hit him and said, "What took you so long?!"

The Proposal

Dennies and Kassidy did long distance for three-and-a-half years when eventually Kassidy moved to San Francisco to be with Dennies. While they loved SF, Kassidy absolutely loved Philly and wanted to move back. Dennies - being an amazing boyfriend - happily went along and they did a road trip (their second together!) from SF to PHL. Dennies sealed the deal in August 2024 and proposed to Kassidy where it all started for the two: in the city of brotherly love. Dennies proposed in the presence of their two lovely boys, Loki and Oliver, and Kassidy's maid of honor, Lauren, who helped with the proposal. Dennies promised Kassidy two things that day: that he would be faithfully her's forever, and that they would live in Philly (or the greater Philly area) for as long as she wanted. When he proposed, Kassidy said, "Yes" before he could even get down on one knee.

Q&A

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

No transportation is provided from the hotel to the ceremony, but the hotel is just a block away from the venue.

Is there parking at the museum?

There is no parking at the museum, but there are parking garages near the museum and valet at the hotel. Please see the list of parking garages in the area in the following link:

https://www.amrevmuseum.org/at-the-museum/visit/visit-directions

What should we do between the ceremony & reception?

There will be a cocktail hour where you can enjoy some hor dourves, drinks, and some live music. The museum will also provide our guests with free access to the many exhibits showcasing the historic artifacts of our nation. Enjoy!

What's the dress code?

Dress to impress—cocktail attire for ladies, suits or tuxes for gentlemen, and most importantly, bring your best dance moves! 💃🕺✨

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?

Of course! In a couple of months, we will open up the RSVP forms on our website where you can make any sort of special request regards dietary restrictions or even how we can better accommodate you.

Can I bring a date?

While we'd love to provide a +1 for all of our guests, you likely know that we both have large families. In order to keep our guest list on track and due to venue restrictions, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.

Random Thoughts

What is the significance behind the date, November 22?

1. It's Kassidy's great grandmother's birthday!

2. It's the title of a book written by one of Dennies's favorite authors, Stephen King, 11/22/63

3. In the spirit of getting married at a museum, 11/22 is a very significant day in history (albeit a dark one). It marks the anniversary of JFK's assassination, 11/22/63 (also the central theme of Stephen King's book!)

4. Most importantly, we like the numbers!

What website did you use to build this?

Dennies built it from scratch! We had a look at some of the other websites, and we thought we could do better. Building it ourselves allowed us to build our own custom features and size everything on the website the way we wanted to. For those curious... the site is built using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, with Tailwind CSS for styling and layout. We're hosting the site on Netlify and Upload Care for images. Reach out to Dennies if you ever have any projects you'd like to work on. He charges $1,000 per hour (kidding of course). Or if you're interested in other work/projects he's worked on, you can visit dennieschung.com .
